Selena Marie Gomez, born July 22, 1992, began her acting career at the age of seven, playing Gianna on Barney and Friends. She had other minor roles, including movies such as Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire, and Brain Zapped. In 2008, she portrayed Mary Santiago in Another Cinderella Story and the mayor's daughter in Horton Hears A Who?
She appeared in Disney Channel sitcoms The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana where she portrayed the recurring role of Mikayla.
In 2007, Selena began to portray Alex Russo on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, which is in it's third season and has had one made-for-television film, with another in the works. It will continue to have a fourth season and a second movie.
Selena made her debut on the big screen this past July portraying Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby in Ramona and Beezus, based off the first three novels in the classic series by Beverly Cleary.
In 2009, she released Kiss & Tell, her first CD, with her band, The Scene. The second single, "Naturally", has been certified platinum, along with the CD certified gold. In September 2010, The Scene's sophomore album, A Year Without Rain, is set to be released. The first single "Round and Round" has been released.
At age 18, Selena has a full childhood career behind her, with a bright future ahead. Selena's Scene is proud to support her.

American Music Festival

Thanks to WFTV, I just discovered that Selena is performing at the American Music Festival.
Some of the biggest names in music are headed to Daytona Beach. The American Music Festival announced Friday it's bringing in acts this summer that include Janet Jackson, Carrie Underwood, Christina Aguilera and Rihanna.
The festival is designed to raise the Daytona Beach image in the minds of residents and visitors. After major concerts in June at the Bandshell, it will expand to shows at the Ocean Center, Peabody Center and Main Street.
Daytona Beach committed $125,000 to promote it. The city has given hundreds of thousands for music events before, with little return, but said the organization is different this time.
The other performers announced Friday are the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovatto and Selena Gomez.
Tickets go on sale May 29, but specific dates for the performances have not been released.

I was at Barnes and Noble today. While my parents browsed the bookstore, I grabbed a couple magazines and a book (The Unwritten Rule by Elizabeth Scott). I got some pictures scans of Selena in M and TigerBeat Magazines. These aren't the high quality and these don't come close to covering all the ones they have of her in their mags. I just snapped the best ones I could find!

Also, I discovered via oceanup.com, there is a new 'SelenaScene' online. It's located HERE. It looks like a Spanish fansite to me. I just wanted it inform all of you that we are not associated with them. We are the first Selena's Scene online. :) Just wanted to clear that up, since some similar sites are often confused.

As you all know, Selena graduated from High School this week, and thanks to People.com, I've added 1 HQ/MQ image of Selena with her framed diploma at her graduation! I am so incredibly proud of Selena. It isn't easy graduating high school and a lot of kids don't even finish when they're as famous and Selena is, but like Demi, Sel went for it. <3

New Gallery Layout

It's been several months, so I decided it was time for a new look in the gallery. For those of you who know me know I hate Coppermine coding and can't do many good ones to save me life. (One exception is Layout Two on Devastating Demi (now Dear Demi).) I used a premade coding made by Deea & Gabrielle and created the header. I know it's off to the right. Their premade was designed for a banner on the left side. I don't know if I'm going to edit or just center it. One or the other. I'm too tired. Bedtime! Haha.
