Selena Marie Gomez, born July 22, 1992, began her acting career at the age of seven, playing Gianna on Barney and Friends. She had other minor roles, including movies such as Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire, and Brain Zapped. In 2008, she portrayed Mary Santiago in Another Cinderella Story and the mayor's daughter in Horton Hears A Who?

She appeared in Disney Channel sitcoms The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana where she portrayed the recurring role of Mikayla. In 2007, Selena began to portray Alex Russo on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, which is in it's third season and has had one made-for-television film, with another in the works. It will continue to have a fourth season and a second movie.

Selena made her debut on the big screen this past July portraying Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby in Ramona and Beezus, based off the first three novels in the classic series by Beverly Cleary.

In 2009, she released Kiss & Tell, her first CD, with her band, The Scene. The second single, "Naturally", has been certified platinum, along with the CD certified gold. In September 2010, The Scene's sophomore album, A Year Without Rain, is set to be released. The first single "Round and Round" has been released.

At age 18, Selena has a full childhood career behind her, with a bright future ahead. Selena's Scene is proud to support her.

Unfortunately, I'm doing my last season of my show, which I'm really heartbroken about. That's gonna be a terrible time for me. I'm going to do a movie for my show, which I'll be excited to end it with, and then a tour.'

On second album: 'The title so far of my album, I mean, I'm hoping it will stick is A Year Without Rain. It's basically one of my favorite songs on the record. It's kind of got a more feel-good dance beat and feel. I love it. It's different, kind of shows my growth of my music. I think if anything the lyrics are powerful, in a way.

'There's the song called 'Intuition' that's one of my favorites. The message is basically every decision that you regret or second-guess, [just] do it [anyway]. I love that message so much.

The 2010 Primetime Emmys air August 29th at 8/7c and you're gonna want to tune in!

Why?

Because the Wizards of Waverly Place is once again nominated for Oustanding Children's Programming! The Wizards cast took home the award last year and their chances are doubled this year. Wizards Of Waverly Place: The Movie is nominated also.
