Selena Marie Gomez, born July 22, 1992, began her acting career at the age of seven, playing Gianna on Barney and Friends. She had other minor roles, including movies such as Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over, Walker Texas Ranger: Trial by Fire, and Brain Zapped. In 2008, she portrayed Mary Santiago in Another Cinderella Story and the mayor's daughter in Horton Hears A Who?
She appeared in Disney Channel sitcoms The Suite Life Of Zack and Cody and Hannah Montana where she portrayed the recurring role of Mikayla.
In 2007, Selena began to portray Alex Russo on Disney Channel's Wizards of Waverly Place, which is in it's third season and has had one made-for-television film, with another in the works. It will continue to have a fourth season and a second movie.
Selena made her debut on the big screen this past July portraying Beatrice "Beezus" Quimby in Ramona and Beezus, based off the first three novels in the classic series by Beverly Cleary.
In 2009, she released Kiss & Tell, her first CD, with her band, The Scene. The second single, "Naturally", has been certified platinum, along with the CD certified gold. In September 2010, The Scene's sophomore album, A Year Without Rain, is set to be released. The first single "Round and Round" has been released.
At age 18, Selena has a full childhood career behind her, with a bright future ahead. Selena's Scene is proud to support her.

I've added 214 MQ images to the gallery of the Naturally music video photoshoot. I am so excited for this! Remember, the video premieres on December 11. :)
Also, Radio Disney is going behind-the-scenes with Selena in a day of her life. Very cool, right? Unfortunately I won't be able to watch this, but I'm not complaining, since I'll be seeing SG&TS in concert at the Dallas HOB that day. (Expect some pictures next week.)

37th Annual American Music Awards

The American Music Awards is one of the biggest annual events in music. For the first time, Selena is attending the 37th! I am very excited for this. Not only is she attending, she's also presenting with Demi.
I'll be updating this post several times tonight. So far, I've added 11 HQ images to the gallery. The show is 3 hours, so late tonight I'll give a synopsis of the show and add the rest of the pictures. In these, you can see Selena posing with Shakira in a gorgeous gold sequin dress. :)
Edit: That was an amazing show! There were some things that could have been left (very innappropriate), so if you recorded it watch at a later time or something, I advise that you exercise caution.
I've added a total of 113 HQ&MQ&LQ images to the gallery. From the red carpet, to the arrivals, to presenting on stage, Selena looked absolutely amazing. I'd say 3/4 of the pictures are HQ&MQ. I am so excited for this! Selena and David (Henrie) are going to guest star in an upcoming episode of Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Scott Family, airing on December 6.
On October 17, 2009, “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” traveled to Clarksville, Tennessee – celebrity volunteers Usher and Selena Gomez guest in the episode — to give Trina Scott and her three daughters the good news that their problem-ridden home would be rebuilt in just seven days. Also of note for this episode, Usher lends a hand to Paige and John, working side by side to help make the new Scott family house a home; and the family gets to visit Selena Gomez on the set of “Wizards of Waverly Place.” This episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” will air SUNDAY, DECEMBER 6 (8:00-9:00 p.m., ET) on ABC.

Whoot, whoot! I've got major news! Selena is set to present an award on stage at the 2009 American Music Awards on Sunday evening, along with Demi! I am sooo excited for this. I couldn't wait to watch for Taylor Swift (6 nominations), but I am sooooo more excited now. With my concert just 12 days away, seeing pictures and videos from her first House of Blues show in San Diego on Sunday afternoon is quite exhilarating! Thanks to Samantha and Jared, I've added 8 HQ images of Selena leaving the concert and meeting some fans.
