A Year Without Rain
Hey guys, by now I'm sure most of you know that my voice is gone and that I had to cancel some of my upcoming shows. After my 2 week promo tour with Joey I started to feel pain in my throat from talking too much. As soon as I came home I went to see my doctor and he said that I had damaged my vocal chords and that I had acid reflex (probably from pickles). He put me on medication and wanted to see me in a few days. When I went back my voice had gotten much worse. He then told me that I had to cancel my shows and be on vocal rest for a week. I felt so horrible that I couldn't perform. I begged the doctor to give me more medication to last me through these shows, he said if I went I could lose my voice completely and have permanent damage. I had to give up and agree to not go but I WILL make it up.

She plays the loving and protective big sister in "Ramona and Beezus," but it's the precocious kid sister that Selena Gomez finds most relatable.
"I was so her. I was constantly performing (as a kid) and thinking of new things to do. I can totally relate to that," Gomez said of the Ramona Quimby character, played by newcomer Joey King in the feature film based on the popular book series by Beverly Cleary.
Gomez plays Ramona's big sister Beezus — a nickname for Beatrice that derives from Ramona's inability to pronounce the name. "Ramona and Beezus" also stars John Corbett ("Sex and the City") and Bridget Moynahan ("I, Robot").
Calling 1984's "Ramona Forever" her favorite in the series, Gomez said she was an avid reader of the Ramona books, the basis of the "Ramona and Beezus" film.
"I think I read them all in the third grade. Like every kid, I loved them," she said in a phone interview.....

Wow. I can't believe today is almost over and our star is 18 years old. Another year older, another year wiser, and a legal adult. Today is the start of Selena's career of her own choices. I'm sure her family will still have a major impact on what Selena chooses to do, but now she's independant, and can choose to now make decision on her own. I am so proud of her. She's such an amazing, confident, sweet girl with such natural talent. I just know her career is going to fully blossom and she's going to be 173789634x bigger than she already is.
